My favorite takeout Chinese in St. Louis. I've been ordering here for years and it's consistently good. Family faves are the beef and broccoli, chicken lo mein, lemon chicken and pork fried rice. Staff is fast and friendly

Hands down. The best Chinese restaurant in South County. I have never been to a Chinese restaurant that is better than China Wok. Their fried rice is the best! Most Chinese restaurant's fried rice is so plain just cooked rice.. But their fried rice has so much flavor I can't stop eating it. I go there weekly almost everyday to get something different. What I really like is their combo plate #14 General Tso Chicken. It comes with Plain fried rice ( has onions in it) And you get a choice of crabrangoon. Egg roll, or fried Wonton. If I feel like eating something stir fried, I would get the Szechuan Chicken. It comes in a dark sauce, with a mix of vegetables, and it comes spicy! The service is really nice, and the food is ready for you in 5-10 minutes depending on how busy it is. Very clean place and I recommend this restaurant to you if your looking for a good Chinese restaurant to eat at or carry out! Again best Chinese restaurant in south county. Don't believe me? Try it out!

Best hot braised chicken in STL......Breaded perfect and cooked just right with a very nice dark sweet sauce.... I asked for spicy and they got it perfect.....Hot and sour soup was much different than anywhere else I have had it, I think this must be a homemade recipe...... Just great..... Friendly staff, we will be back for sure, this one is a real winner.

Let me explain to you why China Wok is the best Chinese restaurant in St. Louis. First off the food is very cheap and affordable. Secondly, the service is great and usually only takes about 10 minutes. Lastly the general tso chicken is to die for, and the crab rangoons are so amazing. If your not in the mood for chicken no need to fear their St. Paul sandwiches are amazing too. I definitely recommend China Wok any day of the week. Well stop waiting and order yourself some China Wok.

Was just here. Asked for a few almond cookies. Even watched the guy put them in a bag for me and Somehow they weren't in my bag when I got home. Idiot service. Never received what I paid for.

I really, really, REALLY hate writing bad reviews but come on China Wok! I had such high hopes! We ordered carry out for 4 people and I was really looking forward to trying all the different types of food that we picked but boy were we all disappointed! It was ALL the same sauce base but with a different "toppings" the sesame chicken was just topped with sesame seeds, the Orange chicken just had a few slices of orange and the general Tso had a ton of dry chillies. It was SUPER salty and extremely bland at the same time. The Lo Mein was ok. And the chicken fried rice was ok. After paying $70 and having to throw it all out was just a real disappointment. There is so many options for Chinese takeout so I would hope that next time they will just try a little harder.

Our new GO-TO Chinese Joint. The Best EGG FOO YONG I've found in STL, aside form Shu Feng on Olive. This place is always full of people, people coming into eat, picking up and being delivered to. I am very picky about me egg foo yong. This place doesn't burn the dish. It is light, fluffy, white meat, with a GREAT Brown Sauce. My daughter loves their Brown Sauce so much, she can order it with white rice only. Their Crab Meat Rangoon is the best in STL. We just found this place about 6 months ago, and found that the enitre neighborhood around here frequents this place. Give it a try. I do have to tell them to remove the rabbit food from underneath my EFY, simply because it begins to soak up that wonderful gravey...Also, you can ask for extra water chestnuts in your BNB as me daughter does.

China Wok is easily our favorite carry-out Chinese. Quality ingredients (white meat chicken), freshly cooked, good portions. I do order extra steamed broccoli when I indulge in the orange flavored chicken - which is rarely. Their hot and sour soup is my favorite anywhere. If anyone in the family comes down with a bug, we immediately go for China Wok's soup - it'll cure what ails you. As far as the person who complained about the service, I don't wonder if they weren't just getting back the energy they give off....

Best Chinese in South County...my favorite in all of St. Louis. Fast service & affordable, they also offer delivery. Restaurant is very clean. I recommend this place to everyone I know. The only thing I'm not pleased about is they charge for Fortune cookies & recently they were sponsored my MO lotto, so it was not your typical fortune, but related to the lottery. I still highly recommend the food! I might just buy myself a box of fortune cookies from the ethnic market to keep at home, since I always order take out!

This is definitely an above average Chinese restaurant. Luckily it's very close to where I work, so my co-workers and I order from here frequently. I'd love to know what was wrong with the general tso chicken the previous reviewer ordered. I've ordered it many times and I think it's great. The rice has always been just fine. I'll also disagree about this place being expensive. Most combo plates are $5.25, most half orders are $5.25, and most whole orders are $7.75. Pretty cheap if you ask me. I will recommend: Orange chicken Sesame chicken Hot braised chicken Lemon chicken General Tso chicken Chicken lo mein Mongolian beef Sweet & sour chicken All of those menu items are battered and deep fried (except the lo mein & mongolian beef). What can I say? When I get chinese food I'm not going there to be healthy. Many chinese places have chicken that is more batter than chicken, but that is not the case here. They use quality ingredients. Standard chinese staples like crab rangoon and egg roll are good, but nothing special.

I ordered the general tso's chicken, both the chicken and the rice were terrible. I had a cup of hot and sour soup. It tasted OK, but it needed to be more spicy, and it was too thick.

China Wok, although not well known, is probably the best Chinese I've had in the Affton area. The food itself is delicious and served in good portions. It's all incredibly affordable, as you can get a good-sized lunch meal for just $5.25. The owners, two Chinese sisters, are very friendly, especially if you get to become a regular customer.
